FunFunFun Fest Artist: Nas

All he needs is one mic, and that mic can be found on the Blue Stage. If you haven’t guessed it from the photo above or the line before, Nas will be headlining this year’s FunFunFun Fest! A hip hop originator, Nas is known for hits such as, “One Mic”, “If I Ruled the World”, “Hate Me Now”, and of course, “Ether”. His positivity enriched approach to lyricism paved a way in hip hop culture. In other words, he is the guy that makes it acceptable to rap about life, sunshine, rainbows, and anything other than being the cool kid with money, rims, tattoos, and women. He is the definition of TRUE hip hop, and although he may disagree, hip hop is indeed still alive because artists like him.
Due to his timeless handsome image, it is hard to believe that his debut album, “The Illmatic”, is now twenty years old! To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of his critically acclaimed album, the rapper released a documentary, “Time is Illmatic”. The documentary displays his artistic journey through hip hop and the making of his debut album.
If you missed it on the big screen, wipe those tears. The documentary is available to watch on demand on iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and Vudu.
If you want to see more Nas, hop on over to FunFunFun Fest!
