Pop Christmas Albums Ranked!

It’s New Years Eve, and ’tis is the (end of the) season for listening to Christmas music! Here are (in my opinion!) the best pop/contemporary Christmas albums:
This second Christmas album by Kacey Musgraves is only better than her first, A Very Kacey Christmas, because it includes all the great covers from it and then some. Featuring some well-known artists and a few original songs, every song on the album has a sound that is unique to Kacey and her voice. Standouts include: “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, “Glittery” (featuring Troye Sivan), and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” (with Lana Del Rey).
Say what you will about this album, but it is in fact really good. Despite not having any hits, every song on the EP is an original in Grande’s RnB/Pop style. Standouts include: “Wit It This Christmas” and “Not Just on Christmas”.
This list would not be complete without this iconic Christmas album. While best known for the iconic song, “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, other standouts include: “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”.
Okay yes, this is *technically* a single song and not an album. But, still, it deserves to be mentioned. The song is so good okay?
- Santa Tell Me and Christmas Kisses by Ariana Grande
While released separately, “Santa Tell Me” just feels like it was on Christmas Kisses, so I put them together. “Santa Tell Me” is Grande’s biggest Christmas hit and is very much up there next to the classics at this point. Standouts from Christmas Kisses include: “Santa Baby” and “Snow In California”.
Kelly Clarkson has become somewhat of a Christmas queen, as she seems to always be releasing a new Christmas song or album. This album includes her hit song “Underneath the Tree” which has become a song I look forward to listening to every year.
This might also be a controversial choice, but this album is a classic. We must never forget “Mistletoe”, “Christmas Eve”, or “Drummer Boy”.
