“Y’all ready to close out the Rodeo this fine Sunday night?” Country singer Luke Bryan screams to the audience as he starts his dazzling performance to a sold-out crowd.
RODEOHOUSTON has officially come to an end after a successful 20 days in NRG Stadium. Luke Bryan has presented himself at the Houston Rodeo for 10 consecutive years, but for the first time, Bryan was chosen to close out the event. The country singer’s show was sold-out (like in previous years) – every seat was taken and every fan in the stadium was up from their seats singing their hearts out.
Bryan came out in a Ford Jeep and immediately started playing “Turn the Radio” followed by “Kick the Dust Up” and “Rain is a Good Thing.” He continued to exclaim that his favorite place to hunt white tail deer was down in South Texas – the statement was followed by his hit song “Huntin’, Fishin’, Lovin’ Everyday,” which included a killer banjo solo. Bryan announced that he recieved his 10th belt buckle for his 10th rodeo performance, an accomplishment he showed a lot of gratitude for.
Everyone lit their flashlights as soon as he began to perform “Buy Dirt,” Bryan’s featured song with Jordan Davis. The singer continued to play more fan-favorite songs, including “Country On,” “Crash My Party,” and a new rendition of “Play It Again.” Bryan was interactive with everyone throughout his performance – he asked “has anyone had any margaritas during the rodeo?” before playing “Margarita.”
To end off his high energy set, Luke Bryan came to the chutes and greeted fans while singing the final song of the night, “Country Girl (Shake It For Me).” He ran back to the stage area and drove off in a Ford Truck while telling our city that he loved us. There is no better way to end off the Houston Rodeo than with a celebratory performance by Luke Bryan, who set the 2023 attendance record with 74,779.
