UH College Game Day Playlist

Written by on October 23, 2023

As the University of Houston has switched from the All-American Conference to the Big 12 Conference, our fan atmosphere has had a significant impact. As crowds are growing, attention is shining on UH. Today I wanted to share my playlist and the perfect songs to get you excited as you are going to any UH sporting event!

1.) Grove St. Party- Waka Flocka Flame ft. Kebo Gotti

Grove St. Party- Waka Flocka Flame ft. Kebo Gotti

This is probably the most familiar song that is played throughout every UH sporting event. If you are looking for a song to raise your adrenaline, you can count on Waka Flocka Flame to give you a song that will get the crowd excited.

2.) Swag Surfin’- F.L.Y. (Fast Life Youngstaz)

Swag Surfin’- (F.L.Y.) Fast Life Yungstaz

Colleges around the nation love this song at their games, and UH is one of them! One of my favorite traditions is when the crowd comes together and sways with “Swag Surfin’.” When the beat drops, the base is loaded! The crowd loves it and the players love it too. It is a classic song that will probably be used in college culture for the rest of time.

3.) March Madness- Future

March Madness – Future

This song is used mostly during basketball season for the reason of the annual NCAA Basketball Tournament, March Madness. This song is the perfect song to get ready for a game or to work with some headphones to lock in!

4.) Uptown Vibes- Meek Mill ft. Fabolous & Anuel AA

Uptown Vibes- Meek Mill ft. Fabolous & Anuel AA

I picked this song because personally, it is one of my favorite hype songs. From the beat, to the trumpet and street horn sample by KSHMR, along with the feature of Anuel AA, this song provides something different and unique, which I think is common among many Latino rappers such as Bad Bunny.

5.) Don’t You Worry Child- Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin

Don’t You Worry Child- Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin

I could not make a playlist without including an EDM classic. One thing I love about my hype, workout and college game day playlist is the range of genres. We can go from rap to EDM to rock and it will just be as adrenaline-boosting! When listening to this at a party or for a boost of motivation, it is one of my go-to songs for drowning out my thoughts.

6.) Let It Rock- Kevin Rudolf ft. Lil Wayne

Let It Rock- Kevin Rudolf ft. Lil Wayne

A throwback to my childhood, and a classic! With “Let It Rock,” I have a distinct memory of this song playing at the Spurs games I would go to with my family as the team would be warming up. Ever since, this song has remained in my hype playlists because apart from the memories, it is a fusion of rap and rock, which is one of my favorites. I can guarantee if this song is played everyone in the crowd is jumping up and down!

7.) Kickstart My Heart- Motley Crue

Kickstart My Heart- Motley Crue

If you are a fan of hearing Welcome To The Jungle by Guns N’ Roses or Thunderstruck by AC/DC on game days, this is another rock classic for game days and hype music! This popular glam metal band from the 80s has made some classics, if you have not heard of them you are missing out!

8.) Fake I.D.- Big Rich ft. Gretchen Wilson

Fake I.D.- Big Rich ft. Gretchen Wilson

This is a country classic down in the south! As we are in Houston, this song brings out cowboys and cowgirls! Bring out the boots, shorts, polos, and crop tops its college football day! The Footloose (2011) song has made its way to the college game day playlist and is here to stay!

9.) Timber- Pitbull ft. Ke$ha

Timber- Pitbull ft. Ke$ha

Pop star, Kesha, and Mr. 305 shocked the world by coming together to make a country song. With the music video at 1.4 Billion views, the impact of the almost ten-year-old song can be seen when it still plays in time for NBA playoffs and other major sporting events.

10.) Pepas- Farruko

Pepas- Farruko

The worldwide song that has been on repeat for the past two years! It is the most recent song out of the list. The music video is already at 600 Million views and will only increase, I can see it getting the same recognition or beating Despacito by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee‘s 2017 music video in the future, which is at 8.2 Billion views.
