Out of This World: A Guide to Austin Psych Fest 2024
Written by Amarylis Rodriguez on April 8, 2024
It’s back and it’s better than ever. From April 26 to April 28, 2024, Austin Psych Fest is taking over the Far Out Lounge in Austin, and we could not be more excited. With the festival only a few weeks away, we want to help you get prepared. Here are some things to know to get you ready for APF 2024!
Festival Extras
Prior to the start of the festival and during, APF hosts extra shows to prep you for the fest and keep the fun going all throughout Downtown Austin. Beginning on Thursday, April 25, you can catch great performances from bands such as CAZAYOUX and Carmelo Haze. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, you catch late night performances at venues Parish, Empire and 13th Floor.
The Schedule
Spanning over three days, APF will feature amazing performances from artists on two different stages: the Willie Stage and Janis Stage. One thing that really stands out about the festival is that none of the performances overlap each other. If you want to, you could catch every single artist at the festival… and there are some really great ones.
Transportation + Parking
Another plus to Austin Psych Fest is that they have loads of options when it comes to how you get to and from the venue. Rideshare and public transport are always good options, but if you want to take your own vehicle there is a large parking lot about a five minute walk from the venue for $7 a day, or you could also valet park for $20 a day.
Artists to Look Out For
We have already given a sneak peak into this year’s lineup here, but here are three more artists attending the festival to get you even more hyped:
#1: levitation room
First up we have levitation room, an indie band that uses elements of psych-rock, dreamgaze and surf-rock to create the ultimate sound. They play Friday, April 26, at 8:20pm!
#2: Frankie and the Witch Fingers
Frankie and the Witch Fingers is an awesome psych-rock band that always stuns with their high energy and good vibes. Their set is going to be good one. They play on Saturday, April 27th, at 5:25pm!
#3: Dehd
Dehd is a little more chill than the previous band, but still falls into the alternative-rock category. Their discography has no skips and I can’t wait to see their set at APF. They play Sunday, April 28th, at 5:25pm!
Where to Purchase Tickets
If you would like to attend (which we know you do), but don’t have tickets yet, you can purchase them here!
We are super excited to be covering all three days of the festival, stay tuned for Coog Radio’s coverage of APF 2024!!
