Kaytranada visits Houston for the Timeless 2024 North American Tour

On October 12, 2024, Kaytranada transformed the White Oak Music Hall lawn into a haven of pure vibes on his “TIMELESS” tour. The sold-out show had fans packed into the outdoor venue, buzzing with anticipation as they waited for the arrival of the Canadian musician and producer known for his seamless work of house, hip-hop, and funk.

The White Oak Music Hall lawn open-air setting, complete with clear skies and a cool breeze, was the picture-perfect night for Kaytranada’s smooth beats. The atmosphere was laid-back yet electric, with the crowd ready for a night of rhythms and good energy.

Kicking off the night were opening performances from Lou Phelps, Kaytranada’s younger brother and Channel Tres. Both set the tone with high-energy sets that got the crowd on their feet. Channel Tres, with his backup dancers in tow, added an extra layer of performance, captivating the audience with synchronized routines that complemented his infectious beats.

When Kaytranada took the stage, the energy skyrocketed. He delivered a tracklist lasting nearly an hour and a half, Drawing from his third studio album, TIMELESS, which dropped this past June, Kaytranada curated a setlist that fused new material with fan favorites from his earlier albums. His signature blend of R&B, house and hip-hop kept the audience entranced.

Alone on stage with his minimalist setup—a sleek metal table holding only his DJ gear and a single wine glass, crazy visuals and a stunning light show, he immersed the crowd in a dancefloor experience like no other. His energy was contagious as he danced behind the decks, keeping the audience engaged through every beat and drop. His music spoke for itself, fostering a feel-good, vibey environment that united the crowd. 

House-influenced bass coursed through the crowd, while the dazzling light show included strobes, spotlights, and moody background visuals that paired perfectly with each beat drop. Pyrotechnics further heightened the excitement, punctuating tracks with explosive moments. The visual stimulation alternated between live camera feeds of Kaytranada and trippy, animated sequences that mirrored the hypnotic rhythms of his music.

Among the many highlights of his show, the performance of “Intimidated,” his collaboration with H.E.R., and his remix of Beyoncé’s “CUFF IT” stood out as fan-favorite moments. The latter, a nod to Beyoncé’s Houston roots, had the crowd roaring with excitement. He also mixed in popular collaborations like “All Night” with Chance the Rapper and Childish Gambino’s recent hit “Witchy.” It was an amazing night with great vibes. His music spoke for itself, fostering a feel-good, groovy environment that united the crowd. The visual elements—while impressive—served as enhancements to the real star of the night: Kaytranada’s music.

By the time the final beats faded, the crowd was left glowing—whether from the energy of the show or the deep connection Kaytranada had forged with his audience, it was a great night to remember.
