Jonas Brothers Reunite After fourteen Years at RodeoHouston

Although the rodeo festivities were halted due to a severe storm that brought heavy rain and hail, 75,600 fans still gathered to watch the Jonas Brothers, an American pop rock band, reunite after fourteen years off stage, breaking the all-time attendance record of RodeoHouston by just five people.

The brothers took a break from their world tour to give Houston a sneak peek into their five-album long set list. Last October, Coog Life had the opportunity to cover their Word Tour which can be found here. Friday’s Rodeo set was a condensed version of that show but still included all the long-time fan favorites. To start the night off on a high note, the band performed “Celebrate,” followed by the lively pace of “What a Man Gotta Do” and “Waffle House.”

Formed in 2005, the brothers gained popularity from their appearances on the Disney Channel, starring in the Disney Channel hit Camp Rock. Although it had been some time since the brothers had been on stage, Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas musical quality was as impeccable as ever: easily trading the spotlight, transitioning vocals and sharing the stage. Nick took a solo turn on “Jealous” followed by Joe with his own single “Cake by the Ocean” by his band, DNCE. And all three brothers sported their own version of Western wear, from leather pants to decorate denim and cowboy hats.

I think it’s important to bring things back to where this journey begins. So what I wanted to do was to bring things back to 2007 right now just so we can see how many OG Jonas Brothers fans we have in the house tonight… and let me just Houston, welcome to the family!

“When You Look Me In the Eyes” brought the audience right back to their childhood as phone lights went up around the stadium. As the band went into their early hits “S.O.S.” and “Year 3000” and then, of course, the Camp Rock songs: “Gotta Find You,” “Introducing Me” “Play My Music,” the true Jonas Brothers fans went crazy with nostalgia. For those who remember, the Disney Channel premieres of both Camp Rock and its sequel were both huge events. Everywhere you looked, people were singing, swaying, even crying. When the guys performed a cover of Garth Brooks’ “Friends in Low Places,” the entire stadium went put on their cowboy boots.

As the band finished up with “Burnin’ Up,” and “Sucker,” and “Leave Before You Love Me,” the audience was practically begging for more. However, even great nights come to an end.
