Rock for a Good Cause!

Last Sunday afternoon, May 19^th, at AxelRad, a vibrant and heartwarming tribute show brought the community together for a cause that transcends music. The event aimed to support Liam Chavez, a courageous 6-year-old battling stage 2 bone cancer, and it exceeded all expectations.

The evening was a tapestry of solidarity, good food, and phenomenal music. Los Inmortales, known for their electrifying tributes to the iconic Héroes del Silencio were invited to help bring a community to support a local fan’s child named Liam Chaves. The tribute band consists of 6 members. The lead singer Ivan Oropeza, Ivan Cortez (rhythmic guitar), Randall (Lead Guitar), Javier Castillo (rhythmic guitar) and Jorge Rock (Bass). Los Inmortales delivered a performance that was both a homage to the legendary Spanish rock band and a beacon of hope for Liam and his family.

They opened with “El Estanque” and performed a 16 song set, even inviting Liam onstage. The setting at AxelRad was perfect for the occasion, with an open-air layout that allowed for a relaxed yet intimate atmosphere. Families, friends, and rock enthusiasts gathered not just to enjoy the music but to support a noble cause. The venue buzzed with activity: local food vendors offering a variety of delicious options, merchandise with all proceeds going to Liam’s medical expenses, and a series of raffles that kept the excitement alive throughout the evening.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the community spirit that permeated every corner of AxelRad. Conversations flowed easily, with strangers becoming friends united by a shared purpose. The raffles were a huge hit, featuring everything from designer items to locally custom made Texas shaped wall decor, all generously donated to raise funds for Liam’s treatment.

The event’s success was a testament to the power of music and community. Every food purchase and raffle ticket directly contributed to helping Liam Chavez and his family during this challenging time. As the night drew to a close, the collective hope and support for Liam were clear – a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together.
