A Whole New World in a Whole New Way: An Interview with the Singing Voice of Aladdin, Brad Kane
Written by Coog Radio on October 12, 2015
After going back into the vault, the Disney classic “Aladdin” has finally returned for a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack release. This Diamond Edition comes with much sought after Bonus Features for fans and collectors alike.
This DVD comes with the feature film in Blu-Ray and digital copy, deleted scenes and dialogue featuring the late Robin Williams, previously unreleased demos of songs that didn’t make the final cut, and behind-the-scenes featurettes about the making of the film. Last Monday I had the amazing opportunity to sit down one-on-one and interview the iconic singing voice of Aladdin, Brad Kane.
Brad Kane provided the vocals for Aladdin for all three films in the “Aladdin” franchise (the only voice talent to do so) and since the role has had success on Broadway and in T.V. He is currently a writer and producer on the Emmy winning Showtime series “Black Sails.” When I sat down with him, I discussed the legacy of “Aladdin,” his memories about the personnel of the film, and performing the Grammy winning classic song “A Whole New World.” A few days after we spoke, he actually performed the song on Good Morning America for the first time in years with the singing voice of Jasmine Lea Salonga.
The audio interview is below. Thank you to Moroch and Coog Radio for the chance to speak with him. We even sang an impromptu version of “One Jump Ahead (Reprise)” You can hear me try to keep myself together for that, enjoy!
