Written by on June 2, 2016

The quirky 26-year-old Canadian will make his FPSF debut this weekend and will for sure put on a fun, eccentric show that will leave you wanting more.

Born in British Columbia, Mac DeMarco has definitely made a name for himself in the indie rock world. In 2009, he released an album called Heat Wave under the name Makeout Videotape and it did very well, completely selling out! 2012 is when he released his first EP, Rock and Roll Night Club, under his given name and ever since then, he has been gaining momentum and garnering acclaim. DeMarco has released four studio albums with Another One (2015) being his most recent release. He is a huge jokester and doesn’t take himself too seriously, which makes it very entertaining to watch his performances and his interviews (I highly recommend watching his interview with Nardwaur).

One of the best things about DeMarco’s music is that it’s easy to identify. It  has Mac’s wonderful mellow voice, great guitar lines, forceful drums, and an overall easygoing vibe, just like DeMarco himself. I made a playlist full of some of my personal favorite Mac songs and you can give it a listen below! Catch Mac right after BØRNS on the Saturn stage on Sunday June 5.  The festival is happening in a few days, so get your wristbands before it’s too late!
