Toro y Moi talents on the boards is so beautiful and versatile that it’s almost a crime he’s not mentioned as one of the greats. Tracks like “Miss Me” featuring Abra and “New House” were more of the slower tempo tracks but kept your ears glued to the music. Abra and Toro y Moi effort felt effortless, we can only hope there’s more collaboration in the future between the two.
He started to pick the tempo back up with “Baby Drive It Down” with a perfect transition into “Freelance.” He makes it hard to be sad with his upbeat tempo. Toro y Moi finds his inner self in “Who I Am” with a very funky psychedelic production. “Monte Carlo” feat. Wet, was definitely the supreme track of the album. Wet was the ideal person to have on the hook of the song. Everything about the track was close to flawless from the production to the lyrics; the only thing missing was a Travis Scott feature which would’ve been a match made in heaven. He concludes the album with “50-50” with the help of Instupendo; which was a very calming ending to the story being told by Chaz B. himself.
