BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR in Houston

Written by on October 12, 2022

After a two-year hiatus, BLACKPINK comes back with their second studio album labeled BORN PINK. Debuting in 2016, the South Korean girl group was created by YG Entertainment, composed of members Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. Their music is categorized as a combination of pop, EDM, hip hop and trap.

The Korean K-Pop girl group BLACKPINK announced the BORN PINK World Tour, their largest tour traveling to North America with seven cities scheduled in the states, starting off with cities such as Dallas, Atlanta and Houston. These cities were originally scheduled for one show, but after the immense influx of tickets sold, YG Entertainment provided fans generously with additional tour dates. BLACKPINK will be performing not just on October 29th, but now also on the 30th in Houston at the Toyota Center.

The BORN PINK album is made up of precisely eight songs with title tracks such as “Pink Venom” and “Shut Down”. Throughout the album, there are references from famous artists like Rhianna, Notorious B.I.G. and 50 Cent have been used. In “Pink Venom”, Lisa’s verse involves lyrics from Rhianna’s song “Pon de Replay” that says “It goes one by one, even two by two”, as well as lyrics “You can’t get a dollar out of me” from the song “Pimp” by 50 Cent. Additionally, Jennie’s intro right off the bat samples “Kick in the Door” by Notorious B.I.G.

The first single from the BORN PINK album, “Pink Venom”, saw an estimated eight million views in the first twenty-four hours after its release and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest-charting K-pop group song of 2022. In that time frame, they also dominated the iTunes Top Songs chart across seventy-four countries including the United States.

In the end, fans who were not able to grab tickets for the event on the 29th and 30th will have another chance. The scalpers and resellers who have additional tickets will be able to sell them once the AXS app delivers them on October 20th, 2022. For more information on BLACKPINK concert tickets, make sure to visit the official BLACKPINK Website and watch out for updates on the Toyota Center website.
