Lady Gaga Releases New Song ‘Perfect Illusion’

After three years of taking time off from the pop music scene and focusing on acting, Lady Gaga is back with her highly anticipated new single “Perfect Illusion.”
Gaga co-produced the song along with Mark Ronson, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker and Bloodpop.
The song sounds like an ’80s heartbreak anthem brought into the 21st century and offers a new look at what Gaga can deliver lyrically. In an era of pop songs with pristine vocals, Gaga wants you to hear every inflection and every pitch in the pop rock banger.
In the song, the singer tackles the consequences of misunderstanding the rush of a fling for something more profound on the bombastic number. “It wasn’t love/ It wasn’t love/ It was a perfect illusion,” she sings. “Mistaken for love/ It wasn’t love/ It was a perfect illusion.”
The song is from her as-yet untitled fifth studio album that features collaborations with Beck and Florence Welch. It is due for release soon.
