WHEN WE WERE YOUNG FESTIVAL Announces 2023 Lineup
Written by Phoebe Brooke on October 11, 2022
When We Were Young Festival announced next year’s lineup–11 days before the first tour starts.
Green Day and Blink-182 are headlining When We Were Young in 2023. Blink had a huge announcement today: Tom DeLonge is returning; a new single is out on Friday, Oct. 14; a world tour starts and a new album releases next year.
About six hours later, When We Were Young announces their lineup, which is clearly pop punk paradise.
The festival is at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds; same as this year’s festival. It is on Saturday, Oct. 21 of next year.
It appears When We Were Young may be an annual festival, taking place every fall. It is very similar to Vans Warped Tour, which was an annual tour every summer. However, as we mentioned in January, When We Were Young has over 50 bands playing in only one day. Tickets sold out immediately.
The 2022 festival later added more dates, due to popular demand. Below is the lineup for the first tour.
Since When We Were Young randomly announced itself and added more dates, perhaps they will announce more 2023 dates if tickets sell out.
The presale code sends out on Friday, Oct. 14 and begins at 10 a.m. PT. You can receive this code by subscribing to their text alerts.
General admission costs $249.99, and down payment plans of $19.99 are available. The festival is still offering hotel and ticket packages, starting at $489.00.
The Internet is already talking, including the YouTuber Damon Fizzy, who has a predominantly emo fanbase. Here is what Fizzy tweeted and a reply to his post.
Fizzy gained more media attention after “exposing” YouTube personality Bryan Stars, who interviewed many bands who are playing both When We Were Young tours.
The turn-out of this festival should be interesting.
