Wale’s Simply Nothing Tour Brings the House Down
Written by Coog Radio on February 7, 2015
Maybach Music artist Wale stopped in Houston’s packed House of Blues on his Simply Nothing Tour on Thursday night. Hardcore fans and music lovers alike filled up the venue to hear one of their poetic lyrical leaders of the new hip-hop generation. First of all, if you ever have the opportunity to see Wale live, you must do so. At the intimate venue, Wale and four other opening acts showed Houston real hip-hop love. The opening acts included Roosh, Chaz French, Bizzy Crook and Audio Push.
Local Houston rapper, Roosh Williams started off the night with a hype set of songs from his latest EP. Even though the audience was anxious to see Wale on stage, they still appreciated the talent that Roosh had to offer. DC native Chaz French brought high energy the second he stepped onto the HOB stage. I could barely follow him around with my camera! However, with all the passion and energy he exhibited, Houston fans showed him love for being a part of the Simply Nothing Tour. Third act out on stage was Miami based rapper, Bizzy Crook. However, he first had his two hype men get the crowd riled up for a great set with their high spirits and smooth verses. Crook performed his popular songs “The Come Up” and “Oath” from his latest mixtape, No Hard Feelings.
As the night progressed, the audience became even more antsy to see Audio Push and Wale jump on stage and top off the already amazing concert. As soon as duo Audio Push jumped on stage, the entire audience pushed forward and got ready to rage 0-100, real quick. My favorite moment of their set was when they gave the audience instructions to move their hands forward and back to the beat of their Hit-Boy produced banger “REPPIN.” Seeing the packed audience simultaneously move their hands to the infectious beat was breathtaking. Audio Push’s on-stage presence, chemistry and energy completely blew every other performing artist out of the water. After almost three hours of opening acts, DC rapper Wale graced the HOB stage with a satisfyingly perfect set of songs from his projects Festivus, The Gifted and Ambition. With all the talent and good vibes shared on the House of Blues stage, it is safe to say Thursday night was definitely unforgettable for fans and every performing artist alike.
