South by Southwest 2023: Day Six Music Recap

Coca Cola Move x COLLIDE

Coca Cola hosted their own showcase at Lustre Pearl on Rainey Street, which featured free food from Canes and Goodies like bubbles, limited edition Coke flavors and handmade tote bags. The lineup was stacked and everyone was prepared. Curtis Waters played an ecstatic set including his track “Stunnin’,” and was followed by Coco and Clair Clair. The girl-pop duo was one of SXSW “Artist to Watch” list and have been performing shows all over Austin throughout the week. They played their hits like “Racecar,” “Wishy Washy” and “Popstar,” all of which got the crowd moving. Isabella Lovestory took the cake, as her performance was one of the most energetic sets of the festival. She performed her songs from her debut album Amor Hardcore, as well as her latest track called “Latina,” which she dedicated to all of the Latinas in the audience.

Last Friday

Last Friday was one of the many showcases held by Resound at Parish. This event hosted eight alternative bands throughout the day. Some of which include, Hey Cowboy!, Bnny, and Why Bonnie. Why Bonnie gave the crowd a great set with songs from their newest album, 90 In November. Bnny’s performance started softly and slowly ascended to more of a rock vibe. Hey Cowboy! had the crowd swaying with their awesome tunes. Something really interesting about the group is that they do not use guitars in their music, besides the bass. Between the venue’s lighting and the live music from each band, this showcase had a really nice, chill atmosphere.

Rolling Stone’s Future of Music – Day Four

Day Four concluded Rolling Stone’s Future of Music showcases at ACL Live. Coco & Clair Clair started the night off on a high note. With their pop songs such as “Pop Star” and “Pretty,” the duo made ACL a big dance party for thirty minutes. Coco Jones, Chlöe, and Koffee followed after.

Austin Takeover by RapTV

RapTV truly took over Austin during this showcase. From 8 o’clock at night to 2 o’clock in the morning, you could hear the performances from two streets over. The event featured numerous great, up-and-coming rappers such as Shorty Jah, and Slimeroni , as well as some more popular ones like, JELEEL! and Erica Banks. It was even some of the artists’ first performance ever.
