Written by on December 8, 2016

Growing up in Chicago and then moving to Salt Lake City, Ryan Gary Raddon developed his own sense of music, playing at a basement club. After moving to San Francisco, he officially rebranded himself as Kaskade and officially began his career as a DJ.

After several years, he was offered a three-album deal for Kaskade and he released his debut, It’s You It’s Me in 2000. It had several singles and he received a nomination from Dance Star for Best New Artist.

In 2001, he released his first official single “What I Say” and the song “Steppin’ Out”, which reached No. 5 on Billboard Magazine’s Hot Dance Club Play chart. The fourth single, “Everything” reached No. 1. He continued to release several different singles and eventually in 2008, his remix for “Sorry” earned him the nomination for a Grammy for Best Remixed Recording.

2012 saw Kaskade headline at the Coachella Music Festival opposite Radiohead and in December 2013 he was nominated for two Grammy Awards: the song “Atmosphere” for Best Dance Recording and the album Atmosphere for Best Dance/Electronica Album. In 2014, he was listed as one of the top ten highest paid DJs in the world in Forbes. This year he was nominated for a Grammy for his remix “Runaway (U & I) (Kaskade Remix)”.
