Float Fest 2022 – Day One Recap

Written by , , on July 28, 2022

Float Fest returned to Texas this summer – this time in Gonzales, Texas. Campsites and festival grounds were full of festival goers, Coca-Cola branded stages, and music for everyone to enjoy.

To start the day off, electronic group Oats & Honey opened the Coke Studio Stage at promptly 2pm. From there on, we heard smaller artists such as Games We Play, Little Image and Doublecamp. While it was extremely hot outside, many fans and music lovers watched these acts with extreme glee.

More well-known acts started to play around 5 p.m, including Daisy the Great (who are known for their hit song “Record Player” with AJR) and pop duo Aly & AJ (former Disney Channel actresses and known for songs like “Potential Breakup Song”). After these amazing acts, Two Feet took the stage followed by 100 Gecs, Quinn XCII and Kaytranada. The day was officially in full swing, and all festival goers were getting antsy to see the night’s headliners.

Chance the Rapper served as the first headliner of the night, as he performed a glorious set at the main Coca-Cola stage. After his set, Vampire Weekend took over the Coke Studio stage and played their hits like “A-Punk,” “Unbelievers” and “Oxford Comma.” Ending day one was the legendary EDM artist DeadMau5, who played an almost two hour set at midnight – it was definitely a time to remember.
