Miranda Lambert’s Las Vegas Residency is here to stay

Written by on January 26, 2023

Nearly three months after the opening night of her highly acclaimed Velvet Rodeo: The Las Vegas Residency, Miranda Lambert added more dates to the tour due to it’s popularity and high demand. The residency began in September 2022 and has now been extended with additional dates throughout 2023.

Lambert has received multiple awards and nominations for her work, including 8 consecutive Academy of Country Music awards and nominations, and multiple Grammy Awards in her name. She has solidified her status as a successful and respected artist in the industry and is always breaking barriers for women in country music. The record-breaking country superstar embarked on her first Vegas residency on September 23, 2022, in a sold-out venue in Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater, located directly in the middle of the city’s famous strip.

Initially, the show was scheduled to run from September 2022 to April 2023. However, on December 1st 2022, Miranda announced on her Instagram that sixteen additional dates were added; alongside the original twenty-four.

As of today, the iconic country legend has performed close to twenty times in Zappos Theater, which currently boasts a capacity of up to 7,000 people. Her song setlist includes numerous tracks from her albums and singles over the past decade-and-a-half, such as “Tin Man,” “Kerosene,” and “Mama’s Broken Heart”, amongst others.

Yet, the most recognizable inclusion on the setlist has to be “The House That Built Me”, a heart-wrenching song that gave Lambert her first Emmy win.

The Emmy award-winning track, released in March 2010, is an emotional ballad that reflects on memories and emotions associated with the place where a person grew up. It’s a beautiful contrast to some of the more lively and energetic songs in her setlist and it’s a fan favorite, as it elicits applause every time it’s played.

The ninety-minute performances of Miranda Lambert’s Vegas residency tour have received generally positive reviews from audiences. Many have praised Lambert for putting on a “phenomenal show” and interacting well with the crowd. However, some attendees have noted that the venue could benefit from having screens on either side of the stage to show Lambert singing, as some seats did not have a clear view of the stage.
