Thoughts on PinkPantheress’ remix album: Fancy Some More?

Written by on October 17, 2025

Rising from the depths of internet virality, PinkPantheress has built an international presence through her lo-fi, genre-bending sound and elusive, DIY approach to pop stardom. After dropping her debut album Fancy That this year, she’s back with a remix project called Fancy Some More?, and it’s exactly that: a second helping of the tracks fans already love.

The album is organized purposefully, split into three discs: the first featuring vocalists, the second producers, and the third containing the original tracks. So, does Fancy Some More? bring something new to the table, or is it just a reheat of the original? Let’s get into it.

Disc 1 of Fancy Some More? starts off strong, with a few standout remixes that totally flip PinkPantheress’s sound in fun and unexpected ways. “Stateside + Zara Larrson” is a catchy, pop-forward standout and is probably the most successful song from the album so far. Zara’s vocals give the track a glossy 2010s recession pop feeling in the best way. Bladee’s take on the same song heads in the opposite direction, turning it into a hazy, sped-up cloud of sound that’s hypnotic. The last minute of the song is my favorite as PinkPantheress’ vocals are muffled and supported by the glitchy, ambient beat sound.

Girl Like Me + Oklou” is also amazing as it slows things down with a dreamy, cinematic feeling. The lush synths wrap around PinkPantheress’s vocals, turning the track into a slow-burning, emotional moment that amplifies the already intimate lyrics of the song.

That said, not every remix on this disc hits as hard, and some feel a little flat or too close to the original, especially when compared to the bolder, more creative takes on Disc 2. The contrast is clear in the two versions of “Romeo”: Ravyn Lenae transforms the track into a bold, after-hours cut with fresh production, while Rachel Chinouriri’s remix stays closer to the original, gently enhancing its emotional core with soft harmonies rather than fully reshaping it. Personally, I’m more drawn to the experimental remixes on Disc 1, where the collaborators take bigger risks. Still, when these remixes land, they highlight just how adaptable PinkPantheress’s music really is.

Disc 2 is where Fancy Some More? really comes alive. If Disc 1 tested the waters, Disc 2 dives all the way in, bursting with bold production choices. “Tonight + Basement Jaxx” is an instant standout. It’s pure dancefloor joy, packed with that classic, euphoric energy the duo is known for. They turn the track into a bouncy anthem that feels made for sweaty summer nights. Then there’s “Illegal + Nia Archives.” The breakbeats are razor-sharp, the drums are relentless, and the whole thing pulses with that raw energy that defines her sound. It’s fast, chaotic, and totally addictive, perfectly mashing with PinkPantheress’s breezy vocals.

Continuing, KAYTRANADA delivers exactly what you’d hope for on “Girl Like Me + Kaytranada,” a smooth rework that’s full of bounce and subtle funk. It’s effortlessly stylish and endlessly replayable. Also worth mentioning is “Stars + DJ Caoi Prince, Adame DJ.”  It’s a high-energy rework that injects the original with fast-paced, club-ready intensity. The remix leans into a UK rave vibe, complete with rapid-fire percussion and pulsing synths that magnify the original sample of the track, “Starz In Their Eyes” by Just Jack

Every track on Disc 2 feels like the collaborator brought their full personality to the table, pushing PinkPantheress’s sound in exciting, sometimes unexpected directions. It’s a blast from start to finish.

Overall, Fancy Some More? is an absolute win. It’s rare for a remix album to feel this fresh, this dynamic, and this full of personality from start to finish. Whether it’s the moodier flips on Disc 1 or the high-energy reinventions on Disc 2, the project displays just how exciting PinkPantheress’s music really is. It was also just so fun to watch her collaborate with artists who have clearly shaped and inspired her sound. There’s a real sense of musical dialogue happening here. Fancy Some More? is a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and genre-bending experimentation that still manages to feel cohesive. After this, I’m even more excited to see where PinkPantheress goes next!
