SOS Artist Spotlight: Kero Kero Bonito

Looking to go out of your comfort zone this weekend at SOS Fest? Try out Kero Kero Bonito, an electronic pop music group composed of eclectic vocalist Sarah Midori Perry and producers Jamie Bulled and Gus Lobban.
Kero Kero Bonito, a name created after the Japanese onomatopoeic words for frog croaks and a type of fish, started when Jamie Bulled and Gus Lobban decided they wanted to work with an artist who was fluent in Japanese. They proceeded to post an ad and found Perry online. What follows along is their debut album Intro Bonito and plenty of hot singles like “Flamingo,” “Sick Beat,” and “Build It Up.” All of which experiments with electronic beats and bubblegum-esque lyrics. The other day my friend compared Perry’s singing/rapping to the “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared” youtube videos. I’ll let you decide how true that is. Listen to Intro Bonito and “Flamingo” below.
