The Rodeo is Back in Town Ya’ll

Dig up those boots from your closet, find that plaid shirt you only wear a few times a year, and bring out that Texas twang that comes out around the month of March because it’s rodeo season ya’ll!
With Cardi B taking the stage tonight, there are still 16 more concerts to go, meaning there is plenty of time to snag tickets to see some of your favorite performers.
So far there have been four artists who have already performed, with a couple of them leaving a memorable impact on some Houstonians.
Kacey Musgraves kicked off the Rodeo lineup and left many concert goers in their feelings when she paid tribute to late Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla. She sang Quintanilla’s hit “Como La Flor” in honor of the Texas native’s 24th anniversary of her last performance at the Rodeo in 1995.
.The video has reached over 200,000 views in two days on YouTube and over a million views on the E! news instagram page, proving that Selena’s legacy still lives on.

Musgraves was not the only one to pay tribute to the Queen of Tejano; Prince Royce also performed a tribute on Feb. 26th, the exact day Quintanilla last performed at the rodeo. The stadium was illuminated by the hundreds of phones in the audience and remained silent until he sang Quintanilla’s “No Me Queda Más.”
Another pivotal moment at the rodeo was when Houstonians got to see Brooks & Dunn perform together since their split in 2010. With no need for a black SUV entrance like most artists, Brooks and Dunn walked onto the stage for a night of upbeat hits.
Luke Bryan, who is somewhat of a veteran performer at the Houston Rodeo, graced the stage once more, except for this time he purred like a cat to his swooning fans throughout the set.
Cardi B is the next name on the list, and with this only being her first appearance at the rodeo, she still managed to sell out along side Chris Stapleton, and Country Legend George Strait.
The future concerts include Panic! at the disco, Camila Cabello, Zedd, Santana and many more.
