Following the release of their fourth album, The Cannonballers, alternative group Colony House began “The Cannonballers” tour which will have taken them through thirty-four different cities in the U.S. by the end of it. On Thursday, March 23, 2023, the band stopped by House of Blues Houston.

Opening for the band was Little Image, an alternative-rock group from Texas that gave a lively performance as the crowd was warming up for the main act. Songs performed included, “BALLET” and “BLUE” off of their upcoming album SELF TITLED. The performance lasted a little over thirty minutes and left the audience high energized and eager for more.

Next up was Colony House. Around nine o’clock the band consisting of Caleb Chapman (lead vocals), Will Chapman (drums), Scott Mills (guitar) and Parke Cottrell (bass), took the stage. The performance was about an hour and a half, with a whole lot of excitement in between.

The set was opened up with “Landlocked Surf Rock,” the first song off of their newest album. They performed a great mix of songs, ranging from super heartfelt during “Man on the Run“, to songs that had the audience jamming out during “One of Those Days.” They also performed a mini rendition to the Steve Lacy hit, “Bad Habit.”

Not only did the group sound great live but they were also incredibly interactive with the audience. The lead singer went into the crowd twice during the performance, got the band to do a BeReal for a fan, and brought an audience member up to play guitar during “2:20.” The singer even agreed to draw a tattoo for someone after the show, warning the fan that his signature drawing right now is a cross between a unicorn and a cow, a “unicow.”

Before ending the night completely, there was a two-song encore. The band performed “Cannonballers” and “You Know It” as their parting gift to the crowd. They left on a high-note, thanking Houston for a great night while the audience cheered as loud as they could. There was so much liveliness felt throughout the fans that night as the group connected with them through their music.
