Albert Hammond Jr. Premieres “Caught By My Shadow” Music Video

Best known as the rhythm guitarist for The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jr. has released a new music video for his song “Caught By My Shadow,” the third single off his third solo album, Monetary Masters.
Directed by Laurent Brient and filmed in Morocco as a sequel to the video for “Losing Touch,” the video picks up from the beach where Hammond seemed to be stranded before being approached by a mysterious figure in a black cloak.
Hammond and the cloaked stranger sit down for a battle of chess on the shore of a beach. In between the showdown, the musician is shown walking aimlessly through the desert in his signature red jumpsuit, sifting through pebbles and rocks on the ground. It then returns back to shots the CGI chess board as their pieces float across the board, without lifting a hand, to their telekinetic demand. Overall, the video suits the staccato nature of the song, as the music sounds very urgent and fast paced, appropriate as the artist is seen running away from the camera.

Hammond can also been seen live on October 5 at the House of Blues’ Bronze Peacock room, at Austin City Limits weekend 2 or you catch him with The Strokes during the first weekend of Austin City Limits on Sunday October 4.
