Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” Earns Four Emmy Nominations

The Television Academy announced this year’s nominees in a ceremony July 14.
Lemonade—the hourlong film that accompanied Beyoncé’s sixth studio album of the same name—was nominated for Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special and Outstanding Picture Editing for a Variety Special.
The singer-songwriter herself is nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special.
The visual album was released April 23. The music received praise for its production and subject matter, as well as Beyoncé’s vocal talent, while the film garnered acclaim for its striking imagery, socially conscious messages and cameo appearances.
