Spanning a nine-day period (March 10–19) and showcasing hundreds of artists, South by Southwest (SXSW), is by far the biggest festival in Texas. SXSW offers a unique opportunity to explore the worlds of Film, Music, and Comedy with parties, awards, screenings, showcases, and special events all over Austin. The Music portion of the event will […]

Doja Cat is a popularly known American songwriter, rapper, singer as well as record producer. The artist whose real name is Amala Zandile Dlamini hails from Los Angeles. Her roots, that came from an artistic family, laid a concrete foundation for her future career in the music industry. Her career began in the year 2013 […]

The first time people hear Rico Nasty’s song, “Rage” they often talk about how alive they felt along with being understood. The only other time I felt this way was after the release of Solange Knowle’s “A Seat at The Table” and SZA’s “Ctrl.” As an African-American woman, aggressiveness is often used against me and […]

Imagine a longboard cruising down a cement boardwalk. To your left is an expanse of sand. Off the pace is the ocean, refracting the rays of the sun. It’s beginning to set. You’ve got your sunglasses on, but you can still see that the sky is a mix of rich oranges, yellows and pinks. The […]

For a man that has created his own genre known as “Gorestep”, Borgore has created a brand that has not only sparked controversy but has been able to mold that controversy into being identified as the “Bad Boy of EDM”.   Asaf Borger, also known by his stage name, Borgore, is an Israeli DJ/producer that […]

Rapper Destin Route seems to have an appropriate name for the up-and-coming moves that he is making by the better known stage name J.I.D. Earlier this year he became one of the latest artists who got signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville Records, following which he released his debut album The Never Story in March. J.I.D, […]

Wiz Khalifa is one of hip-hop’s biggest superstars. With 6 studio albums, 15 mixtapes, countless singles, 12 of which are platinum or multi-platinum, he has spent the past 12 years paving the way to a perfect balance in everything in his life while forever hustlin’. Wiz was a thug. Hustlin’ on the streets as a […]

Kali Uchis, born Karly Loaiza, is not what you would think she is. If they were to create a hispanic Barbie with alien and retro vibes dripping in candy land colors, that would begin to encompass the persona that Kali Uchis has created. Today, she is still quite a mystery but one thing is clear: […]

T-minus two weeks until Austin City Limits returns to the grassy plains of Zilker Park, and it’s coming back with a vengeance. Bringing out big names like Jay-Z, Chance the Rapper, and Ice Cube, they’ve truly outdone themselves with this year’s lineup. Another headliner – who perhaps I’m most excited for – is The Revivalists. […]

If you happen to have lived in the middle of the woods or under a rock for the past 4 years then I apologize, for you probably have not heard the name Kendrick Lamar. If you have lived in the mainstream world , then 9 times out of 10 you will definitely know the name.

Image Source Local, pop punk, and insanely cool. Waterparks formed in 2011 in Houston, Texas. The band consists of Awsten Knight as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Geoff Wigington the backup vocalist and guitarist, and Otto Wood on drums. Not only is this band made up of guys with some really great names, they have […]

If you’re looking for it, Issues has got it. The band is best known for their ever evolving and unique spin on alt/hardcore that began with vocalists Tyler Carter and Michael Bohn (previously of Woe Is Me), and has transformed throughout the years by embracing the use of turn tables and keyboards.

It seems like everyone is either making rap music or electronic these days. Even though i’m a fan of both, sometimes it gets a little boring and the need to find something new makes me borderline crazy. Then along comes Hakeem and I feel saved.

Benjamin Booker can easily be described as soulful and punk, but do not categorize him with the blues.

You have probably heard the song “Sweater Weather” playing on the radio, right? You are also probably familiar with their logo consisting of a black-and-white house flipped upside-down. Well, put those two together and you have American rock band, The Neighbourhood which formed in August 2011. The band is composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy […]
